On January 13, 2026, Melexis announced that its integrated silicon-based RC snubber, the MLX91299, has been selected by power module manufacturer Leapers for use in a new generation of high-performance power modules. This collaboration aims to enhance the reliability and efficiency of silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors in automotive and industrial energy management systems.
Technical Solution: Integrated Snubber, Noise Suppression
As SiC devices see accelerated adoption in fields like electric vehicles and renewable energy, technical challenges such as voltage overshoot and electromagnetic interference under high-frequency, high-voltage operation have emerged. Melexis's MLX91299 effectively suppresses voltage spikes and oscillations by integrating resistance and capacitance into a single chip. It also features good thermal performance, helping to maintain a compact module structure and stable operation.
